‘Memories in Motion’ – V&A Installation by The SIM Project – Interactive Tour for MMB

Saturday 5 October at 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm

People migrate from one place to another, and as they move, their bonds of love with the place they come from continue like spider webs.’

Mahide Uz, poet and SIM Project member

The SIM Project gives material meaning to personal digital archives and creates new ways to share and value stories of migration. This installation features over a thousand unique SIM-scale prints made and worn by people with experience of displacement in workshops across seven countries.  Join project founder Liz Hingley and and poet Mahide Uz to find out more about the inspirations, research process and technical innovations within the project through interactive participation and intimate mapping activities.

Liz Hingley is MMB’s Honorary Artist. As an artist and anthropologist, her interdisciplinary practice blends photography, sculpture, and collaborative creation to illuminate practices of belonging and belief that shape societies around the world.

Meeting point for the tour: at the ‘Memories in Motion’ installation inside the V&A Museum.
