Monday 10 October 2022 at 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm
We are very excited to welcome Irene Peano (University of Lisbon) to give a seminar on modern marronage in contemporary Italy. Irene holds a PhD in Social Anthropology from the University of Cambridge (2011). She held post-doc positions at the University of Bologna (under a Marie Curie Intra-European scholarship) and at the University of Bucharest. For over 15 years, she has been researching the labour exploitation of migrants, focusing on sex work and agricultural work, and both researching and participating in forms of resistance to migratory and labour regimes.
