MMB PGR Discussion Group
Wednesday 7 February at 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm
The third MMB PGR discussion group will focus on ‘Political imagination and (academic) activism’. Building on previous discussions, we will explore the opportunities and frontiers of our imagination, political and institutional contexts and academic paradigms. We will link these debates to questions around (academic) activism and ethical responsibility within migration research.
We are honoured to have Prof. Victoria Hattam (New School for Social Research, New York) join us for this session. Victoria will have just arrived back in Bristol for the last six months of her Visiting Leverhulme Professorship with MMB. She will close the debate with some reflections on the theme of the discussion, which will be followed by a lunch.
This format is a PGR-led initiative aimed at fostering debate and exchange between PhD researchers and MMB scholars. The sessions will offer a space for reflection and an excellent opportunity to discuss shared research interests.
